Monaco Marine and Feadship Heritage Fleet Partnership
Just prior to its annual Mediterranean member event in conjunction with the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, the Feadship Heritage Fleet (FHF) announces its new partnership with Monaco Marine. Monaco Marine supports FHF at its highest ‘captain sponsor level’ as well as 2018 Grand Prix de Monaco Historique event sponsor.
The Feadship Heritage Fleet is an association for the owners of registered Feadships that are more than thirty years old. It has three key objectives:
- UNITE owners of classic Feadship yachts
- PROMOTE continuance of the Feadship yachting heritage
- ORGANISE member events and offer services related to their yachts.
There are an incredible number of Feadships still sailing that were launched more than three decades ago. As well as being a testimony to Feadship standards of construction, many of these yachts have been scrupulously maintained by their owners. They are very proud of the heritage of their yacht and still enjoy cruising the world in the style and comfort which is so very unique to the Feadship brand.
The heritage of the yachts is celebrated through exclusively staged events in the Mediterranean, the USA and home country the Netherlands. Every summer, the FHF Rendezvous takes place in the Netherlands, including a tour at one of the Feadship yards. The FHF is present at the biennial Monaco Classic Week and the Monaco Historic Grand Prix. Treasurer and also co-founder of the Feadship Heritage Fleet, Arthur van Berge Henegouwen is pleased with this partnership.
The Feadship superyacht: An asset that goes through centuries
Shipbuilding is one of the largest industries in the small Northern European nation of the Netherlands. Over 550,000 sailing and motor boats of all sizes are owned by the Netherlands’ 16 million inhabitants, which has a significant impact on the domestic market for building and maintaining these vessels. Across Holland, there are 600 construction sites, 200 brokerage firms and over 30,000 highly skilled craftspeople employed in the marine construction business.
A superyacht pedigree like no other
Despite the country’s diminutive size, Holland’s yacht building industry occupies pole position in terms of aggregated value of vessels, and second in terms of quantity of vessels. When it comes to superyacht pedigree, the Dutch are the undisputed world leaders in build quality. This reputation is in no small part thanks to a national maritime history that is centuries old and runs through multiple generations of craftspeople.
