Monaco Marine University: Yachting Knowledge
An industry of Craftmanship and Artistry.
Every yacht is unique and individual. The demands required by yacht owners (among the world’s most wealthy customers in the world) is non-negotiable. The unique know-how linked to years of experience, of working materials, of adapting to very challenging technical constraints, (cramped conditions, marine environment, a wide variety of trades, materials etc..) developed by yachting sector businesses in the PACA region is a very important asset and resource that must be preserved and sustained.
But to transfer knowledge of tens of years is no small task. It needs structure and organisation to accomplish it. Monaco Marine University invites SME’s from the PACA region to conserve their skills in the long-term by training their employees and supporting them in the transferral of their know-how. By doing this we can increase our status as the world’s preferred destination for a technical ‘pit stop’ for superyachts and this will enable us to manage an ever-growing number of orders within this dynamic market sector. What’s more the clients’ expectations have also profoundly changed. We need to be more flexible, more reactive and more versatile in all sectors of the industry. But if we want to be all these things, we have to be multi-skilled. Monaco Marine University offers a way to the employment sector to gain these multi-functional qualities that are essential for the workers of tomorrow.
A standard requirement and excellence to lever growth in the business and the industry.
New methods of practical training have appeared with new computerised technology and communication (the internet). Nowadays training is ongoing and continues throughout our careers. Businesses are responsible for this and these days training is no longer a choice or an option but a duty required by the French government. Training must give each employee the opportunity to be highly employable throughout the length of his/her professional career.
This process leads to developing greater emphasis on technical knowledge, know-how and interpersonal skills within a business. Training is the way to achieve excellence today. The Monaco Marine workforce will benefit from this new training centre in the first place. But sub-contractors can also benefit from the centre which they otherwise would not have the financial or technical possibility to do. So Monaco Marine University offers them a key hands-on service, depending on their needs.
The temporary employment sector could also benefit from the courses. At last yacht crews based at shipyards during refit periods will also be offered workshops to learn French, French cookery, or as another example, perfume-making, for which our beautiful region is well known for its savoir-faire.
