Monaco Marine is an expert in refit work on medium-sized boats

The refit of medium-sized yachts is a transformation process that can significantly improve the look and the technical capabilities of a vessel, adapting it to the latest technologies.

These refits often involve a comprehensive overhaul of key systems such as propulsion, navigation, and onboard entertainment, ensuring the yacht meets contemporary standards of performance and comfort. Additionally, aesthetic upgrades can refresh the yacht’s exterior and interior design, providing a modern, luxurious appeal that matches the owner’s tastes. By investing in a refit, yacht owners can extend the lifespan of their vessels, enhance their value, and enjoy a more sophisticated and efficient maritime experience.

Monaco Marine is a leader in the field of yacht refitting, which naturally includes the work on mid-range boats. With a reputation built on decades of expertise, the company offers a wide range of services tailored to fulfil the owners’ desires. The shipyards’ facilities are equipped with advanced technologies and staffed by skilled professionals who are experts at executing complex refit projects. Whether it’s a minor upgrade or a complete transformation, Monaco Marine ensures that every detail is meticulously handled, delivering results that not only meet but exceed expectations.

Monaco Marine’s project manager teams detail some of the most frequent works done on medium-sized yachts:

Exterior refit work done on mid-range yachts

Most of the time, the exterior work includes the 5 or 10 years mandatory maintenance tasks requested by the classes: Rina, ABS, Lloyds Marine and Bureau Veritas. These organisations impose regular checks to ensure that the vessels are working properly.

Other popular work includes the improvement of the exterior such as the sanding of the teaks, the replacement of some parts of the bridge, or some of the stainless steals but also the painting of the hull.

Naturally, medium-sized yachts also enter the shipyard to have repairs done which can cover the antifouling painting, the maintenance of the propellers, the shafts, the valves and the control and repairs of window seals as well as the checking and service on the A/C units to name a few.

Interior refit work done on mid-range yachts

The interior refit works are more visible, they improve the vessel’s look. Whether it’s to retouch the varnish on furniture, change some of the upholstery on sofas or armchairs, polish some of the bathroom marble floor or sand the hardwood floors, these can be seen and appreciated right away by the owner.

However, there is a large part of the interior refit that are dedicated to upgrade the existing technology on-board.

It’s essential to check and keep in good condition all electrical and electronical systems, as well as all the plumbing and the heating installations.

Last but not least, having a refit done on a medium-sized yacht is the perfect opportunity to have all the tanks checked and repaired when necessary. Fuel tanks, gray, dark or clean water tanks, they all need regular maintenance.

As mentionned above, some of the works are done periodically, others, just to bring the technology onboard up to date, or to improve its aesthetics. Another reason to bring a yacht to the shipyard for a refit is to personalise her new look.

When an owner purchase a second hand vessel, he/she often takes some time to personalise the yacht to his/her taste. It’s the perfect opportunity to customize the interiors, change the yachts’ name, redo the hull or teak painting and change some of the interior decor.

Which Monaco Marine shipyard is best for your medium-sized yacht?

For the 35 to 40 m yachts Monaco Marine facilities in Beaulieu sur mer and Antibes have equal capacities for technical work.

Some of the shipyards, like the one in Beaulieu sur mer only have 3 berth out of the water, but 6 in water which enable the teams to start the work and take it out of the water at the last minute to finish the refit. These moves are achieved thanks to the various lifting devices available at the Beaulieu sur mer shipyard, including a 40-ton small yacht hoist, a 140-ton large yacht hoist, and a 40-ton crane.

On the other hand, the Antibes shipyard has a larger capacity and can therefore do the work on yachts outside of the water. It features an 80T lift for small vessels, and a 300T elevator for large yachts, enabling vessels to be lifted and lowered to shore for repairs.

All mid-range yacht refits are successfully carried out by Monaco Marine's teams thanks to the great communication between all the parties involved. The professionals at the shipyard are thorough and dedicated to run all middle-sized yachts refit smoothly and efficiently to meet the deadlines agreed by the owners.
